No Difference = Clear Choice for Patients With Single-digit Dupuytren Contractures

A nice meta-analysis points the way to a safer, less-expensive choice.

What’s the Claim?

A well-designed meta-analysis of RCTs at a minimum follow-up of three years after treatment found no differences between needle fasciotomy and collagenase treatment plus manipulation for single-digit Dupuytren contractures in terms of:

  • Risk of contracture recurrence
  • Fixed flexion contractures
  • Patient-reported outcomes scores

But sometimes, “no-difference” doesn’t mean “the same as.” Here, we think there are reasonably compelling reasons to choose one over the other.

How’s It Stack Up?
