Antibiotic Stewardship as Important as Ever

Think about this: Drug-resistant bacteria cause more disability than road injury.

  • Bone and joint infections represent a small proportion of disability attributable to AMR, but all physicians are responsible for antibiotic stewardship.
  • Countries that face low access to antibiotics should focus on prevention, while countries with widespread access may achieve the largest gains by emphasizing antimicrobial stewardship.
